EMS Microcurrent Face Mask

The EMSTIGHT EMS Microcurrent Face Mask is the flagship device in the range: a small rechargeable host unit that attaches magnetically to the EMSTIGHT Microcurrent Sheet Mask — a non-woven sheet printed with conductive silver paste — for one fifteen-minute session at the intensity you choose.

How the ritual works

Start with a clean, dry face. The manual gives two ways to use it, and both put your own skincare underneath.

• With your own sheet mask. Put your own facial mask on, place an EMS Sheet Mask on top of it, then connect the host unit.
• With your own moisturiser. Apply your usual moisturising lotion, dampen an EMS Sheet Mask with pure water, smooth it onto your face and connect the host unit.

Either way, the session runs for fifteen minutes and switches off on its own. The current only flows while the silver paste is in proper contact with skin — if contact is lost the intensity drops back to level one and the unit shuts off after about thirty seconds.

Caring for your EMS Sheet Masks

Each EMS Sheet Mask can be used up to three times if it is looked after. After a session, rinse the sheet gently in cool water — do not scrub, fold or stretch the silver conductive tracks. Those tracks carry the current across the face, and once they are scratched, creased or lifted the sheet stops conducting evenly. Lay it flat to air dry away from direct heat and sunlight, and store it dry.

Replace a sheet when it no longer sits flat against the skin, when the silver tracks look damaged, or when a session feels weaker than usual. Sheets are for one person's use only, and a sheet used on broken or irritated skin should not be reused. With five sheets in the box and up to three uses each, one box covers up to fifteen sessions — and replacement EMS Sheet Masks are sold separately in packs of five at £19.

Use and suitability

Prepare, place and operate the product exactly as described in the instructions supplied with the device, and review all precautions before first use. Do not run the device for longer than fifteen minutes at a time. The host unit is not waterproof and must not be cleaned with water or with alcohol, makeup remover or other solvents.

Not suitable for anyone under 15. Those over 15 should use it under the supervision of a parent.

Do not use this device at all if you have a pacemaker, defibrillator or any other implanted electronic medical device, an artificial heart or lung, or if you wear a medical electronic instrument such as an ECG monitor or heart-rate regulator.

Speak to your doctor before using it if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have a heart condition, abnormal blood pressure, a cranial nerve abnormality, epilepsy, a malignant tumour, an infectious or acute illness, abnormal bleeding, sensory nerve loss, cognitive impairment, reduced sensation caused by diabetic circulatory problems, a skin disease or skin infection, a known allergy to electrode pads, metal implants in the treatment area, or if you are taking medication or have a temperature above 38°C.

Where the sheet goes. The EMS Sheet Mask covers the face as shown in the supplied instructions. Keep it clear of the eyes and eyelids, and out of the mouth. Never use it on broken, irritated or sunburned skin, on mucous membranes, over the front of the throat, or on a site where you have had plastic surgery. Avoid skin treated for hair removal the same day.

Do not use while intoxicated or while feeling unwell. Stop immediately if you feel discomfort or the skin becomes red or itchy. The device does not run while it is charging.
